COMPUTERIZATION ADVANCES ON MEDICAL PRACTICE Practitioners Get a Handy Tool to Manage Their Work

Yoshkar-Ola (Mari El) -- October 21, 2002 -- Pilot Group announces an immediate release of Practice Manager. The new system is designed for consulting physicians to organize their practice.
Medicine is a highly traditional profession that requires devotion, full concentration, and an upper level of orderliness. Besides their direct service to cure people, physicians have to do a lot of routine work: manage large lists of contact information, store and analyze bedroom charts, keep track of events and meetings on a daily basis, manage the inventory of medicines and tools, etc.
Of course all those tasks can be done using several separate programs. But their integration is sure to be a real problem. All those compatibility issues may drive you crazy. We have a solution!
Practice Manager comprises in its system all the tools a practitioner may need to put an order to the daily proceedings. The corner stone of the system is routine medical charting (recording the subjective and objective findings, assessment, and treatment plan) and keeping patients' history. Practice Manager also acts as a full-featured organizer for planning the working time and storing contact information. It will help you control your inventory and keep your accounts. And finally, this system has a set of features specific to medical practice that provide a convenient workplace for a practitioner.
Some of the features that Practice Manager offers to users include:
•    Calendar (to schedule patients' visits, meetings, and other events)
•    Routine medical charting
•    Treatment protocol tracking
•    Treatment modalities
•    Services and procedures
•    Diagnosis management
•    Financial analysis
•    Inventory management
•    Flexible system of reports

This project is implemented in Visual Basic 6.0. Databases are created in Interbase SQL Server. To develop Project Manager we had to create a lot of unique, impressive ActiveX controls an OLE DB Interbase provider.
